The Heating Equipment Testing and Approvals Scheme (HETAS) promotes safety and efficiency for the solid fuel, wood and biomass heating industry. The HETAS Identity was designed to give a strong visual identity in all the areas it has to appear in – retail, domestic and commercial.
HETAS are the official body recognised by Government to approve biomass and solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses.
HETAS is a not-for-profit organisation and exists to promote the safe and effective use of solid fuels, biomass and related technology.
HETAS is an industry-leading provider of registration schemes for solid fuel and biomass professionals, including a UKAS accredited Competent Persons Scheme and a Microgeneration Certification Scheme – offering registration for solid fuel, biomass, plumbing and sanitary ware, and chimney systems. HETAS also operates Retailer and Chimney Sweep approval schemes.
Through Government policies to promote renewable energy, wood and biomass now play a growing role in meeting the country’s heating and energy needs. HETAS is at the centre of these developments by providing consumers with the assurance they need over the safety and efficiency of appliances, competence of installers, quality of fuels and the ongoing maintenance of their systems.
