Having been involved in their identity, we were asked to produce a simple web site for the company, but with the capability of easy expansion to include more services, case studies and projects.

Although the company is new, their experience is deep and broad in design, systems and management and the site needed to reflect this. The ‘quick links’ on every page provide fast access to the areas of business otherwise hidden by overview navigation.

It goes without saying that the site is W3C compliant, although we have used a few CSS tricks here and there to make the site more visually appealing.

T. Nielsen & Company who are based in Gloucester Docks, said: “We will be subcontracted by BAE Systems, who has won the contract, and we are their shipbuilding partner, so any of the work that involves timber will be carried out by us.”

The restoration is expected to be the most extensive ever carried out on the 246-year-old warship since she was repaired after the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The work will include the ship’s masts, rigging and bowsprit, and will involve replacing side planking and decayed timber with hand-fitted teak to maintain the structural integrity and unique profile of the vessel.

Vice Admiral Charles Montgomery, Second Sea Lord and Commander-in-Chief of HMS Victory, said: “HMS Victory is an icon for the Royal Navy and the nation as a whole. This restoration project will enable future generations to experience for themselves a warship that has an enduring and far-reaching effect on national and international history.”

The new site needed to address and show the range of product on offer, yet still be easy to access.

Smartrain specialises in improving the ways people communicate through personal and management training and the site heavily features the courses on offer, using a rotating banner to give a basic overview of the offering, plus a page given over to comments from clients.

To keep the site alive and current, there is a Twitter feed on the landing page which updates with the latest Tweets from Smartrain .

As an extension to the HETAS Corporate Identity and range of marks, we have produced the HETAS Approved Retailer Mark.

The scheme aims to maintain the good reputation for heating with solid fuel, both biomass and mineral. Retailers need to give suitable advice to consumers so that they get a good experience from their equipment. This includes buying the correct size of stove for their room and taking measures to ensure appropriate maintenance is carried out.

Approved retailers will now be able to display the new window sticker and use the mark on their literature, advertising and in their showrooms to let customers know that the advice and service they receive will meet the standards set by HETAS.
